Film Biographies
Jack T. Chick is the reclusive cartoonist who has drawn and printed over 1,000,000,000 Christian comics, making him the most published living author/artist. The 24 page mini-cartoon tracts have been translated into over 100 different languages, and can be found all over the world in bathrooms, bus stations, phone booths, or any other public place. Chick’s gospel work became controversial in the 1970s after he started criticizing homosexuality, the Vatican, Mormonism, Masonry, Dungeons & Dragons, rock music, and the Ecumenical movement. His full color comic books have exposed alleged plots to take over the world from various groups including The Illuminati, Catholic Jesuits, and witches working for Satan. Although Chick himself never allows himself to be filmed (out of security concerns) he allowed the film crew unprecedented access to his company, staff and archives.
Bob Fowler is an underground comic book collector and researcher. He is author of the very first book on Chick, “The World of Chick” (Last Gasp, 1997). He also sells Chick tracts at various comic book conventions, insisting they are classic examples of American pop art, despite their controversial nature.
Daniel Raeburn is the author of the book Chris Ware. His next book about comics, The Imp of the Perverse, is forthcoming from WW Norton. He teaches nonfiction writing at the University of Chicago.

“Cowboy” Chaplain Dann is a lay minister who has probably passed out more tracts than any other man to date (over 1 million). He also supplies free tracts to jailed prisoners and overseas missionaries. Like Chick, Dann is a former WW2 vet but was also a real life cowboy after the war. He specializes is witnessing to Indians and has even drawn his own tracts to reach various minority groups.
Rev. Ivan Stang is the highest-ranking Scribe under J. R. "Bob" Dobbs, founder ing its own unique blend of religious intolerance. Stang is author of The Book of The SubGenius History with Maybe Logic Academy.
David Daniels works for Chick Publications as a researcher and writer. He authored The King James Bible Companion, Did the Catholic Church Give Us The Bible?, and Babylon Religion- How a Babylonian Goddess Became the Virgin Mary. He also credits Chick tracts with playing an important role in making him a Christian, saving him from a world of drugs, Mormonism, and witchcraft.
Rev. Richard Lee is a contributing author to The Art of Jack T. Chick. He has collected Chick tracts and Chick’s controversial newspaper, Battle Cry since the early 1980s. He is one of the few outsiders to have actually met the reclusive artist in person. He is also a minister to a church that uses Chick tracts to reach new members.
Dr. Kent Hovind is a Creationist author who, until recently, owned and operated Dinosaur Adventureland, an amusement park that promotes the belief that dinosaurs existed just 6,000 years ago. Hovind has written and spoken extensively about alternate (Christian) theories of the Earth’s history and creation of life. He is currently in prison for refusing to pay taxes.
Alberto and Nuri Rivera. Alberto Rivera claimed to be a former Jesuit priest with inside information about the Vatican’s plans to restart the Inquisitions. He inspired six full color comic books and several tracts published by Chick, as well as several books, including the highly controversial Smokescreens. Rivera is now deceased, but his recorded testimony lives on in a series of videos. His wife, Nuri Rivera, is now a minister and she continues his anti-Vatican crusade.
Dr. Rebecca Brown was a medical doctor who says she uncovered a plot by witches to take over her hospital and kill the patients. She attempted to prevent the scheme through prayer and vigils, but was forced from her practice because she refused to stop asking her patients to assist her in prayer. She has authored several highly successful books on spiritual warfare, including He Came To Set The Captives Free, Prepare For War, and Unbroken Curses.
Fred Carter is the other artist who draws comic tracts for Chick Publications, as well as the full color Crusaders comic books. He has recently completed a ten year project of over 360 full color paintings used to illustrate Chick’s first motion picture, The Light of the World. This is the first time, however, that he has appeared on the screen himself.
John Todd claimed to be a leading druid priest for the Illuminati. He revealed the secret conspiracies that the Illuminati devised to take over the planet. During the late 1970s, Todd warned the world of an impending global melt down, where riots and an economic collapse would bring society to its knees. His testimony was immortalized in three separate full sized comics and numerous tracts published by Chick.
RevvkkkppHal Robins is a professional artist and writer of books including Dinosaur Alphabet (2006). He, also, like Chick, draws cartoons and comic books, and, it must be admitted, has collected and carefully examined Chick tracts for decades. He believes Chick deserves acknowledgement as a self-published cartoonist, as historically significant in his own way as R. Crumb and other pioneering "underground" cartoonists. Robins, 57, is a night club and radio performer who sometimes specializes in voice-over work for films and computer games.
